Jobs & Hope WV: By the Numbers

West Virginia has been at the forefront of the Substance Use Disorder Crisis. However, the Jobs & Hope WV program is making a difference, established by Governor Jim Justice and the West Virginia Legislature.

At the heart of Jobs & Hope WV is a vision of providing West Virginians with a barrier to employment with the opportunity to overcome obstacles that prevent establishing career success and strong family and community ties. With 22 transition agents throughout the state, the program offers a broad range of expertise and knowledge of peer recovery and support services available in their region, as well as workforce, career technical, and higher education resources.

We are excited to share program successes that highlight participant and Transition Agent efforts statewide. As of January 2023, the program has had 2,157 participants, 21 completed expungements, 3,509 employed participants, and 1,475 driver’s license reinstatements. Additionally, Jobs & Hope WV graduates have achieved an average annual salary of $32,026, with a combined annual salary of $8,300,000, and 736 participants no longer receive SNAP benefits.
