Jobs & Hope WV Receives $750,000 in Federal Support Through Senator Justice’s Appropriations Effort
CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Jobs & Hope West Virginia announced today that the program will receive $750,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending secured by U.S. Senator Jim Justice through the recent federal appropriations minibus passed by the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. The funding was highlighted as a West Virginia win by Senator Justice in Washington, D.C. and comes as part of a broader package that delivers targeted federal investments to the state.
The funding will support Jobs & Hope WV’s partnership with the West Virginia Military Authority and will strengthen the program’s Workforce Employment Program by providing wage reimbursement assistance to employers who hire active Jobs & Hope WV participants. This program helps remove barriers to employment and connects West Virginians to stable jobs while supporting businesses across the state.
“This investment is a powerful commitment to West Virginia’s workforce and to the people and employers we serve every day,” said Lorrie Smith, Director of Jobs & Hope West Virginia. “Through strong partnerships and employer engagement, Jobs & Hope WV continues to remove barriers to employment while helping businesses build stable, reliable workforces.”
The funding will directly support wage reimbursement services for participating employers, helping reduce hiring risk and increase access to employment opportunities for program participants.
Through the Jobs & Hope WV Workforce Employment Program, employers can benefit from:
- Salary reimbursements for wages up to 1,040 hours
- Up to $20,000 per employee
