Jobs & Hope WV Awarded C.C. Dickinson Family Giving Circle Grant to Support Women Transitioning Out of Substance Abuse Treatment

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Jobs & Hope West Virginia has been awarded a grant from The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation through the C.C. Dickinson Family Giving Circle to expand services for women transitioning out of substance abuse treatment and reentering their communities.

The annual grant award, up to $50,000, will support Jobs & Hope WV programming serving Boone, Clay, Fayette, Kanawha, Greenbrier, Lincoln, Logan, Putnam, and Raleigh counties. Grant funds will be used to strengthen mentorship, reentry, and supportive services that help women overcome barriers to employment.

“This investment allows Jobs & Hope WV to focus on women at a critical point in their recovery journey,” said Deb Harris, manager of Jobs & Hope WV. “By providing mentorship and practical support for employment assistance, we can help women successfully transition back into their communities and build a stable foundation for themselves and their families.”

Grant Funding Focus
While Jobs & Hope WV continues to operate statewide and provide services for all West Virginians, the $50,000 from this grant will be dedicated exclusively to supporting women transitioning out of substance abuse treatment. Eligible uses of funding include mentorship programs that support successful reentry, job training and placement assistance, access to housing and childcare resources, and individual or family counseling services designed to support recovery, reunification, and long-term success.

Jobs & Hope WV operates statewide to connect individuals facing substance use disorder, justice involvement, and other barriers with employment opportunities and supportive services. The program works in partnership with employers, treatment providers, community organizations, and state agencies to promote workforce participation, recovery, and economic stability.
